I am excited to be a member of the Soaring Heights PK-8 team as a third grade teacher. It is going to be a year full of learning and new adventures, and I feel privileged to have the opportunity to be a part our amazing community in Erie. In my classroom, I focus on building a strong sense of community by providing meaningful experiences in a hands-on learning environment that motivates students to build confidence in themselves while inspiring them to follow their curiosity. I emphasize respect, creativity, and teamwork, and I help my students work to their fullest potential by building a love for learning.

I received my undergraduate degree in Anthropology at the University of Tennessee, and completed my Master’s of Education with an endorsement in Elementary Education at Lincoln Memorial University. I began my career teaching fifth grade in Tennessee, but migrated west to teach second grade (and ski!) in Salt Lake City, Utah for the past three years. I ventured over to Boulder last year where I had the amazing opportunity to support reading and math intervention with students K-5.

When I am not teaching, you will find me pickin’ on the banjo, rock climbing or biking in the mountains, gardening in the backyard, painting inspiring landscapes or travelling.

Third grade is an exciting time full of change and growth, and I am excited to be a part of your child’s special year!
