It is with tremendous excitement and gratitude that I begin my tenure as the Assistant Principal at the Erie PK-8 school. As a Colorado native, I attended both grammar and secondary school in the Denver metro area. After graduation, I enrolled at Colorado State University earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Family and Consumer Science Education. I continued my education at the University of Colorado, Denver receiving a Master of Arts in English. My first teaching experience began at Drake Middle School in Arvada where I dedicated 10 years educating 7th and 8th grade students. My classroom experience extended to Green Mountain High School for four years but lead back to the middle level as an administrator after completing a Principal’s Licensure program through the University of Phoenix. From 2013-2017, I was the Assistant Principal of Manning Middle School where in addition to my regular responsibilities, I facilitated district-wide Assistant Principal Scheduler’s meetings and professional development for Jefferson County Public Schools. During this time, I was honored with the Exemplary Performance Award as well as the Integrity Award.
I greatly anticipate the work serving preschool children to middle school adolescents. I look forward to working with the Erie community to develop a school climate of trust, safety and learning, and partnering with all stakeholders to develop an exemplary learning environment that meets the needs of the whole child.
