I am thrilled to be joining the Soaring Heights PK-8 community as a fourth-grade teacher this year. I am passionate about exploring and learning with my students through inquiry each day. In 2008, I received my Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and fell into a job teaching half-day kindergarten after graduating. It was at that point that I fell in love with teaching and returned to school to earn my Master's Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Nevada, Reno.
My family and I moved to Colorado this past summer from Austin, TX where I have spent the last 6 years teaching fourth grade. I am originally from Nevada, born and raised in the shadow of the beautiful mountains of Lake Tahoe. My husband, Scott, is also a teacher in St. Vrain and our family is rounded out by our lively two-year-old son, Finnley, and our two spunky pups, Rusty and Riley. When I am not teaching you can find me consuming books (recommended mostly by my students), traveling, hiking, and camping with my family, or enjoying taking a deep breath in a yoga class.
I look forward to partnering with you in the coming year at Soaring Heights PK-8!
