I am so excited to join the Soaring Heights School community and begin my 25th year of teaching! Throughout my career, I have brought my passion for Spanish language and culture into the classroom. I began by teaching a bilingual elementary program in the Central Valley of California, and then weaving the rich history of the southwest into the curriculum of an independent school in Albuquerque, NM--in a school building built by Spanish settlers in the 1620s! Most recently in California, I taught a middle school Spanish program and helped introduce a World Language program for grades 1 through 5, where students were introduced to the language, cultures, and arts of the Spanish-speaking world. Throughout my experience, I have learned that all students have the ability to challenge themselves and discover their passion for learning!
I grew up in Long Island, New York and slowly migrated to California before finding my way to the Rocky Mountains. My husband and I have recently relocated to Erie from the San Francisco Bay Area, and are excited to embrace life here in Colorado. Two of our children attend St. Olaf College in Minnesota, and our oldest is in grad school at Stanford, studying computer science. We love the outdoors and we look forward to exploring Colorado with our chocolate lab, Toffee. My passions include hiking, gardening, art, and I consider myself a life-long learner!
