Learning the importance of leading an active lifestyle while growing up in Raymond, MN is what has driven me over my teaching career. I attended Mankato State University and received my Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education with a concentration in Spanish. Before moving to Colorado in 2005, I had the opportunity to teach 1st-3rd grade P.E. on the Fort Irwin Army Post in Southern California, K-8th grade P.E. at the Reid School in Salt Lake City, and 7th & 8th grade P.E. at James Workman Middle School near Palm Springs, California.
Moving to Colorado was one of the best decisions of my life. I started teaching in St.Vrain at Longmont Estates Elementary. During this time I received my Master's Degree in Health Education / Health Promotion through Mississippi State University. In 2009, I lived out a lifelong dream where I participated in a teacher exchange program and taught in Port Lincoln, South Australia for a year.
I had the amazing opportunity to open Red Hawk Elementary in 2011 with a movement focus and feel as greatly blessed for the next journey to be a part of Soaring Heights. Teaching Physical Education and coordinating All School Movement is a true passion of mine. I love inspiring my students to be active and to live a healthy lifestyle. I really look forward to working with the students, staff and families of Soaring Heights.
When I'm not teaching, I love spending time with my husband, Ben and two kids, Daniel (5) and Abigail (3). To keep active, I enjoy working out at home, hiking, skiing and walking/jogging with our dog, Luka.
