Bio
Soaring Heights is a great place to be and I love our community! I am passionate about developing relationships based and innovative learning opportunities that foster academic, physical, and social emotional skills. I am committed to advocating for and supporting all students. In 1995, I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with teaching licensure in Elementary Education and Special Education at Nazareth College in Rochester, NY. I then completed my Master’s Degree in Elementary Education with specialization in Reading in 1998 at SUNY Geneseo in Geneseo, NY. During this time I taught special education and third grade. My husband and I ventured west to Colorado in 1998. I worked in Boulder Valley Schools for two years and then moved to St. Vrain, where I have been for twenty-two years! In 2007, I completed my Principal’s License through Colorado State University. In addition to classroom teaching, I have worked as a building coach for teachers, a coach through the St. Vrain Valley Office of Professional Development, and as a Dean of Students. The depth and breadth of these experiences brought me back to where my greatest passion lies… working with learners and their families in the classroom. Outside of teaching, I love to spend time with my family and friends as well as crafting, traveling, and reading.
