I am thrilled to enter my 4th year of teaching at Soaring Heights. I am absolutely excited to teach 7th and 8th grade science this year. Prior to teaching at Soaring Heights, I taught at Prairie View Middle School in Brighton, Colorado as a 6th grade science teacher. I found my true passion in teaching as a second career having earned a Natural Sciences B.S. degree at Colorado State University. I am currently in the process of obtaining my Master's in Teach & Learning with the desire to obtain my principal licensure.
I chose to be a teacher because I love working with kids, thrive off their energy and strive to be a positive adult role model in the life of middle schoolers. While science is a passion for me, I really want to instill in others curiosity, wonder, the ability to problem solve and to learn to fail forward. I am hopeful for a great year of teaching and sports coming back.
Outside of school I enjoy family life with my wife, Lori, and our four children. I have enjoyed coaching and playing basketball, football and track for over 20 seasons. Over the years, I have had a large variety of different exotic pets and have fun discussing even the most despised creatures (spiders, scorpions, snakes, etc). Church is also a major part of my and my family’s life.
