I am excited to return to Soaring Heights and contribute to the amazing work being done with students. I am entering my 17th year teaching. I spent four years as a Library Technology Specialist (K-8), one year teaching 2nd grade, five years teaching 7th and 8th grade social studies and the last six years teaching 6th grade social studies. I received my Bachelor's degree in History with a Political Science minor from the University of Northern Colorado. In 2013 I received my Master's in Education from Regis University. I believe success in the classroom begins with strong student-teacher relationships. Establishing trust and respect will allow us to explore learning in various fun and exciting ways, and enhance our critical thinking skills. We will immerse ourselves in the past to understand where we have been and where we are going. I have been married to my husband Sean for 27 years and we have three amazing adult children, off working in their areas of passion. When I am not teaching I love to read, garden, get outside, spend time with my family, and work on projects around the house.
