Bio

I am very excited to be returning to Soaring Heights as a third grade teacher! This particular grade is a very important one, as many students are really starting to realize their own thought processes and learning to make strong connections between new concepts and things they’ve already learned in school and the world around them. My students and I cultivate a classroom where we all feel comfortable to share our ideas and we feel safe to make mistakes and grow from them.

My passion for teaching and learning has been lifelong, but as life happens, it wasn’t until later that I was able to go back to school to obtain a Masters in Elementary Education and begin to teach. I hold a Bachelor's degree from Auburn in Pre-Law and began my career in Human Resources over 25 years ago. I made the plunge into the world of education in 2017 as a Substitute Teacher and Para-Educator. As the world slowed down a bit during Covid, I obtained my Masters degree and teaching license. I have been full time teaching ever since and I look forward to many more years as a teacher.

My husband Scott and I have been happily married for over 26 years. We have three amazing children; Savannah, Scotty, and Spencer. If I’m not teaching, my love and attention are on my family. We are always at soccer games, exploring new places in Colorado, traveling together, or just enjoying each other’s company.

My favorite part of teaching is making strong connections with students and helping them create a meaningful path to learning. I look forward to partnering with you and your students this year.
