Bio

I am so excited to be teaching 5^th grade at Soaring Heights! After over 20 years in Anchorage I just moved back to Colorado to be closer to family. I am excited to experience Colorado’s sun! While in Anchorage, I earned a second BA in Elementary Education from the University of Alaska and a Master’s degree in Elementary Education from American College of Education. I have over 14 years of experience in 6^th, 2^nd, and 3^rd grade classrooms. I am passionate about helping every student get excited about reading, and I absolutely love to bring hands-on science lessons and project-based learning into my classroom. I am also a certified yoga teacher, with over 19 years of experience teaching yoga to adults and children. When I am not doing yoga in my spare time, I am outside hiking, paddleboarding with friends, reading historical fiction, and watching Formula 1 races and CO team sports with my husband.
