My name is Elizabeth Freedman, and I consider myself very fortunate to be a part of the Soaring Heights family!
I was born and raised in Norfolk, Virginia, and received my BA in Political Science from Randolph Macon Woman’s College in Lynchburg, Virginia. I moved to Colorado and spent nearly two decades in the technology industry. On my 40th birthday, I finally followed my passion and transitioned into education. After holding various roles within St.Vrain as a Special Education Para and Technology Teacher at Red Hawk Elementary in Erie, I decided to pursue my Alternative Teaching Licensure in Special Education from University of Colorado at Denver. I’ve been a Special Educator in the district for several years at Carbon Valley Academy in Fredrick, Altona Middle School in Longmont and most recently Thunder Valley K8 in Fredrick. I am thrilled to be back home serving my Erie community.
My goal as a Special Educator is fostering academic success for every student. No two students are the same! By advocating for individualized education, I’m supporting students with opportunities, accommodations and modifications to be successful.
Outside of school, I like to spend time with my family. I enjoy being outdoors - whether the mountains or the beach!
