Prior to teaching at Erie PK8, I taught at Burlington Elementary School in Longmont, Colorado as a 2nd grade teacher.  Then I taught at Red Hawk Elementary in Erie, Colorado as a 2nd grade teacher.  During that time I found my passion of teaching students to become capable, confident readers and I am looking forward to bringing those skills to middle school. I chose to be a teacher because I love watching students overcome challenges, grow into confident people, and become life long learners.  I enjoy watching students discover their learning and how they learn, which I believe leads them to become confident in their learning.

Outside of school I enjoy family life with my husband, Dan, and my son Garrison.  I love theater and have a B.F.A. in Theater Arts from Stephens College. I enjoy bringing my love of theater to my students by creating plays and using acting skills to become a confident public speaker.  As a mom of a toddler I enjoy spending time with him painting, playing, reading, and doing little science projects.  I have a large extended family on both my side and my husbands time and we spend a lot of time together hiking, boating, playing cards, and having huge family dinners.
